Alocrom 1000/1200 & Iridite NCP

These are chromate conversion coatings applied to the aluminium surface. The process is suitable for all aluminium alloy types whether cast or extruded and is commonly used prior to painting or powder coating. The process also provides protection, corrosion resistance and increased electrical conductivity. Iridite NCP is rapidly replacing Alocrom 1200 as a non chromate conversion coating to satisfy RoHS and WEEE directives. It also offers resistance to high temperatures and a corrosion resistance of up to 1,000 salt spray hours using ASTM B117.

Karas has responded to the market demand for high quality Alocrom/Iridite based on a much faster turn round time than currently available. We now have a brand new state of the art Alocrom/Iridite line which utilises the latest water and energy saving methods available. Our advanced process control measures allow us to maintain excellent consistency. The plant is specifically designed to “get it right first time” with vastly reduced lead times.
